A short story by Blake Wycough ****    The night is upon me. As I stand here watching the sun disapear , an eerie fog begins to strangle the ground. I must begin walking. Walking into the the night.  An unnerving feeling settles into my bones. I pull my hat lower and tighten my coat as I begin my journey through Borgo Pass. These Carpathian Mountains are so full of dread you can almost feel their sorrow. Where is the coach that is to meet me and take me to the castle? The howels of wolves surround me. To the sides and behind me. I must walk faster....faster.  A cold wind haunts the narrow path I travel and leaves do a dance of death around my legs. I can feel my heart  pounding in my throat. Oh God please! Please show me a sign. A sign that I will somehow live to see the sun rise again. The sounds of the night grow more intense with every step I take. I can almost taste certain death. More wolves join in on the sorryful cries. I can see their eyes peering at their prey through the jagged mountainside rocks. Wait!!....Yes! Yes! I hear the trampling of horses and creaking wheels of the coach. The candlelight lamps beacon through the heavy mist. I can now finish my journey and arrive safely. Safely....at Count Dracula's Castle.
